Seminar: Digitalization and Lean Construction

September 14th, 09:30 am CET

Welcome to TechniaTranscat´s event on Digitalization & Lean Construction! Come join us at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Radisson Blu SkyCity Hotel on September 14, 2016. At the event you will hear Skanska, Projektengagemang, Svensk Byggtjänst, Dassault Systèmes and many more to give their view on how to work with Digitalization and Lean Construction.

Numerous reports have well documented the slow adoption of new technologies in the AEC industry compared to other industries. However, the possibilities made available by digitalization in combination with Building Information Modeling, will according to a BCG* report change the game fundamentally in AEC. The efficiency and quality gains enabled along the value chain will transform the industry and ultimately help companies become more competitive and profitable.

TechniaTranscat´s Digitalization & Lean Construction event is a conference focusing on the whole spectrum of digitalization, lean construction and lean manufacturing from a business, process and functional perspective. This event brings together our customers, partners and leaders from across the industry to network and gain insight into new trends and experiences.

Learn from others how to transform your business and become more competitive and profitable with the help of digitalization.

Get inspired by future technology trends and meet global influencers when it comes to Lean Construction.

Date: September 14th, 2016.

Venue: Radisson Blu SkyCity Hotel, Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, Sweden

Audience: CEO’s, CIO’s, CTO’s, Construction Engineers, other Engineers within building industry, PLM users, BIM experts and VDC gurus.

Speakers at the event

Javier Glatt, Co-Founder & CEO - CadMakers Virtual Construction

Javier is Co-Founder & CEO of CadMakers Virtual Construction, an integrated construction technology company focused on applying manufacturing practices to the AEC industry. Since the company’s start in early 2014, CadMakers has procured over 50 projects with a total construction value over $5B, providing products and services focused around automation tool building and prefabrication enablement. Javier holds an MBA from Simon Fraser University and a BA from the University of British Columbia. Fun fact: Javier enjoyed a successful eight year professional football career prior to diving into the world of construction technology.

Tiina Koppinen, Senior Vice President Business Development at Skanska Oy

Tiina Koppinen will share her experiences of Skanska Finland´s PLM solution (Aino) and give her perspectives on digitalization and the opportunities for the AEC industry. Skanska Finland´s PLM approach has e.g. resulted in giving stakeholders better visibility into different levels of project data for faster and more accurate cost control, improved decision-making and closer project control for increased efficiency and productivity.

Lars Albinsson, CEO/Creative Director at Maestro Management

Entrepreneur, innovator, transformer. Lars Albinsson´s experience from digital innovation projects (Volvo, IKEA, Microsoft) and radical urban development projects (relocating mining cities and earth quake recovery) has given him loads of credit when it comes to questioning old truths and approaching situations from unexpected angles by combining fresh new ideas and technologies. Lars is now confident that the AEC industry is ready to take the leap to becoming more efficient and sustainable by using modern IT-tools supporting their daily operations.

Patrick Mays, Vice President Strategy at Dassault Systèmes

With over 30 years of AEC experience, Patrick Mays is part of the core team driving the AEC industry strategy at Dassault Systèmes. Described as one of the most visionary and strategic IT thinkers in the industry, Patrick´s passion for helping companies navigate the difficult process of changing their business models to match the evolving industry requirements is second to none. Patrick will share his experiences from the latest industry trends when it comes to both lean construction and lean manufacturing.

Jan-Olof Edgar, Senior Advisor BIM/PLM at Projektengagemang

Jan-Olof Edgar has been a BIM pioneer and practitioner. Throughout his career he has worked on the development of BIM-supported processes with a focus on the entire life cycle of building information.
He is also involved in the development of modular technical platforms for industrialized construction with lean processes. The new classification system CoClass combined with PLM technology is a breakthrough to realize the full potential of BIM.

Helena Dahlberg, Product Manager AMA/BSAB at Svensk Byggtjänst

From the very beginning of her 25 years in the construction industry, Helena passionately strived to improve and streamline processes. In her presentation, Helena will introduce you to the amazing potential of savings by efficient and clear communication during the life cycle. Helena realized the true possibilities of a fully digitalized process during the development project ”Fokus I” (2013), and has since been an advocate for a new Swedish classification system. This is now in the making – CoClass – will be released in November 2016.

Kajsa Simu, Researcher, Luleå University & Manager Operations, NCC

Researcher, Lean Manager and change agent – with more than 20 years of experience from construction industry, continuously striving to improve construction management. Since 2003 she has had a close connection with both industry and academy with collaborations cross-over the construction industry nationally as well as internationally. She was the prior Chairman for Lean Forum Bygg – the Swedish organisation for Lean Construction as well as responsible for the Lean Construction network within Encord (The European Network of Construction Companies for Research and Development). Her research is focusing Lean as an operations strategy for construction and what implications that will have for the industry as such. At NCC she has in parallel to her research managed a group with Lean coaches and worked with support to the construction managers at different levels and with different methods throughout the organisation.
